Looking for some holiday fun?
Check out the annual Olde Golden Holiday Parade. This small parade is held on three Saturdays in December in downtown Golden.
The parade starts outside the Golden Visitor Center on 10th Street and Washington Avenue. Police officers close off Washington Avenue and the parade winds its way just a couple blocks to 13th Avenue.
The parade route is short enough that one of the flat bed trucks carrying a singer went through before the parade and again during the parade.
The parade has lots of animals including horses...
Several groups of dog owners...
Even llamas!
There were dancers walking the route and performing...
And there were square dancers performing on the back of a flatbed truck.
Members of two Veterans of Foreign Wars' posts walked in the parade.
And the Lions Club came out in a vintage fire truck.
If you like fire trucks, there was another historic fire truck and a modern fire truck.
There was even an ad during the parade for Bob's Atomic Burgers.
And, of course, Santa made an appearance!
The Olde Golden Holiday Parade has two Saturdays left - today (Dec. 12) and Dec. 19.
The parade starts at 11 a.m. (ish). Last Saturday, it actually started around 11:15 a.m. Parking is free around Golden and the parade is free.
