THORNTON, Colo. — A 33-year-old man struck by a hit-and-run driver in Thornton over the weekend has died, the Thornton Police Department tweeted Monday.

The pedestrian was struck near the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and E. 115th Avenue around 2 a.m. Saturday.

The vehicle that hit the pedestrian — a white GMC SUV — fled the scene after the crash. Police said the suspect vehicle has front-end damage and is missing the letter “M” from its GMC emblem.

Paramedics transported the man to a local hospital in critical condition where he was later pronounced deceased. The coroner’s office has yet to release the name of the victim.

Family members said the man, whom they identified as Bradley Hatchett, was a military veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was discharged due to disability from PTSD and tried to get help through the VA.

Police said Monday that very few leads had come in regarding the investigation. They hope people with information will contact them.
