DENVER – A woman was injured Friday evening crossing the street at a known trouble spot for pedestrians in Denver.

The woman was rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following the two-vehicle crash at 5th and Lincoln around 8 p.m.

Police say the woman was pinned underneath one of the cars when they arrived on scene. She was taken to the hospital with a broken ankle.

The intersection has been the scene of several similar incidents over the past few years, including a fatal crash back in March.

Denver Public Works has plans to improve the intersection, but work won’t begin until 2018.
