PARK COUNTY, Colo. — Authorities in Park County are searching for a man missing from the Alma area.
The Park County Sheriff's Office said the county's search and rescue team is conducting an active search for Michael Blair.
Park County Sheriff Tom McGraw said Blair's mother reported him missing on Feb. 6, however he hadn't been seen since Feb. 2. McGraw said Blair did not tell anybody he was going hiking or climbing.
They are treating the operation as a recovery, he said.
The recent snowstorms have made the search "extremely difficult and dangerous," but the sheriff's office said they plan to continue the search as long as it doesn't endanger staff.
"With the weather we’ve been having, we’ll have to get lucky," McGraw said.
As of now, Blair's disappearance does not appear suspicious, he said.
The sheriff's office said they are asking for individuals to not search on their own since conditions in the mountains are dangerous.
Anybody with information on Blair's whereabouts is asked to call Park County Search and Rescue at 719-888-4816.
