One of the Park County Sheriff's Office deputies shot serving an eviction notice on Wednesday is improving.
Park County Master Patrol Deputy Kolby Martin’s condition has been upgraded from serious to fair condition.
St. Anthony Hospital released a photo of the deputy Friday that showed him smiling and giving a thumbs up to the camera.
Martin and several other deputies wereserving an eviction notice when officials said the homeowner, Martin Wirth, opened fire, hitting three deputies. Cpl Nate Carrigan was killed, Martin was shot multiple times and Capt. Mark Hancock was grazed on the ear. Hancock was treated and released.
Martin was upgraded from critical to serious condition and was up and around, Park County sheriff Fred Wegener said Thursday.
Friday, the hospital said Martin was continuing to improve.
The hospital said Martin and his family wanted to thank the public for their prayers and expressions of support.
