BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — Boulder County search crews found a woman alive more than 30 hours after she headed out to snowshoe.

The 47-year-old woman left Boulder Sunday morning to go snowshoeing on the Jenny Creek Trail. She started at the Eldora Nordic Center shortly after 9:30 a.m. She was expected to return by Sunday afternoon, but a concerned family member called Boulder County Communications Center around 9 a.m. Monday when it was discovered she hadn't returned.

Search and rescue crews began searching around the Jenny Creek Trail. After approximately eight hours on the ground and in the air, ground searchers found her alive about 200 feet off the trail.

Crews evacuated her from the area by snowmobile, and she was taken to the hospital by helicopter. She sustained serious injuries after spending the night outside, but she's expected to survive.
