DENVER — The Denver Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one person dead Thursday morning.
Jay Casillas with the department said they received a call at 9:20 a.m. about a shooting along the 100 block of S. Yuma Street. The deceased person was a male, but that was the only description available. He died at a hospital.
Police did not have any suspect information as of 10:30 a.m.
Because the shooting occurred closed to Florence Crittenton High School, the campus was put on lockout at 9:32 a.m., said Will Jones with Denver Public Schools. The lockout was lifted at 10:58 a.m.
