BOULDER, Colo. – One driver was dead and another hospitalized following a head-on crash in Boulder County Monday.
The Colorado State Patrol said the crash happened on Highway 52 between North 79th Street and Highway 119 around 4:30 p.m.
Troopers said one vehicle drifted into oncoming traffic, colliding with another vehicle head-on.
The drivers of both vehicles were transported to Boulder Community Health. One driver was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other driver was in serious condition, troopers said.
It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the crash.
Troopers expected the highway to be closed for several hours due to the investigation.
