A man shot during a traffic stop northwest of Denver Sunday night has died. Mountain View Police say the man got out of the car holding a shotgun.
It happened around 9:30 p.m. at West 44th Avenue and Yates Street.

The driver was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, according to Kirk M. Firko with Mountain View Police. Monday morning Denver Police announced the suspect had died.
The officer involved was not hurt.

It is standard procedure for the officer to be put on paid administrative leave while the shooting is investigated.
