DENVER — An off-duty police officer and driver of another car were both transported to the hospital after a crash Thursday morning.

Shortly before 5:30 a.m., an off-duty officer with the Denver Police Department was driving into work eastbound on Green Valley Ranch Boulevard when another car turned left in front of the officer's car, said Jay Casillas with the police department.

The officer’s car T-boned the other vehicle. That driver was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The off-duty officer was transported with minor injuries.

The driver of the car that made the left turn will be ticketed for failing to yield on a left turn, Casillas said.
