DENVER – Beginning next year, travelers will be able to fly nonstop between Denver and Paris, France.

Denver International Airport announced Thursday that Norwegian would offer direct flights between the two cities starting on April 9, 2018.

The flights will run twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays.

This is the latest in a string of new service announcements at DIA in recent months.

Norwegian just announced nonstop flights to London in April of this year and Copa Airlines announced nonstop service to Panama. Earlier this month, Edelweiss announced it would launch direct service between Denver and Zurich next summer.

On Tuesday, Frontier announced it was adding 21 new destinations from Denver, most of them within the United States.

Airport officials said nearly 200 people travel between Denver and Paris every day and a recent survey found that almost three quarters of respondents said they would travel to France more often if there were a direct flight option.
