Northern Colorado agencies train on commercial plane crash scenario

LOVELAND, Colo. – A fake plane-crash scenario helped northern Colorado fire and rescue agencies train for such a situation Tuesday morning.

The training was held at the Northern Colorado Regional Airport. A bus was lit on fire to simulate a commercial plane crash and fire.

Crews from Loveland Fire, Loveland Police, Thompson Valley, Poudre Fire, Windsor-Severance Fire and Front Range Fire all took part in the training.

Regional first responders are required by the Federal Aviation Administration to show they are able to respond to such incidents.

Actors were used to simulate injured survivors of the theoretical crash. The training lasted about two hours. More photos and information can be found on the Loveland Fire and Poudre Fire Twitter pages.
