There's a new marker on the Colorado-Utah border along Interstate 70.
In addition to the brown "Welcome to Colorful Colorado" sign, there's now a white marker that says Colo State Line.
The old state line marker was on Highway 50 on the Utah side of the border back in the 1930s, but was vandalized by cars, bullets and graffiti, according to KJCT-TV.
"The symbolic meaning of it is huge... we wanted to make sure we restored it properly," said Mesa County Commissioner Scott McInnis. “People in our county want their history to be preserved.”
The state line sign was refurbished with donated materials, labor and equipment, primarily from Mays Construction.
It now sits on the Colorado side of the border line.
