TELLURIDE, Colo. — A mudslide near the town of Telluride has several motorists and hikers stranded Monday afternoon.

The slide occurred near Bridal Veil Falls and forced the closure of roads and trails in the area.

San Miguel County Sheriff’s Office deputies are on scene assisting those stranded. Crews are also working to construct a temporary roadway around the slide.

The slide is nearly 5 feet deep in parts and about 3-feet wide, the sheriff’s office said.

Bridal Veil Road and Trail and the Via Ferrara will be closed to all traffic through Tuesday as crews work to clear debris.
