LONGMONT, Colo. – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Longmont Monday evening, and police say drugs and or alcohol and excessive speed may have played a factor in the crash that occurred around 5:45 p.m. on Highway 119.
Longmont Police say two motorcycles were traveling east on the highway near Zlaten Drive at a high rate of speed when one of the motorcycles left the roadway, hit a guardrail and lost control.
According to police, the motorcycle and rider, a 31-year-old male from Firestone, continued through the median and crossed over into the westbound lanes of traffic.
The rider was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released. The other motorcyclist was questioned by police and released.
