THORNTON, Colo. – A motorcycle rider died following a crash involving an SUV in Thornton late Friday night, police said.
The motorcyclist was driving east near the intersection of E. 104th Ave. and Marion St. when the SUV driving in the opposite direction made a left turn to go inside a shopping center. The turn caused the SUV to collide with the motorcycle, a spokesperson for the Thornton Police Department said.
The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital in critical condition but was declared dead by Thornton police shortly after 10 p.m.

Eastbound traffic on E. 104th Ave. was being diverted at Marion St. Police warned drivers to expect delays in the area.
It's unclear if any charges will be filed in connection with this deadly crash.
