Most popular baby names in Colorado revealed

DENVER — Colorado doesn't always follow national trends, but when it comes to naming babies, parents in the state are in lockstep with most of the nation. 

On Thursday, the Social Security Administration released its list of the most popular baby names in 2016 broken up by state. 

For males across the nation Noah, Liam and William top the list. For females across the nation, Olivia, Emma and Charlotte top the list. 

Here are the 20 most popular baby names in Colorado in 2016. 

1.) Liam - 307 babies | Olivia - 327 babies

2.) Noah - 281 babies | Emma - 305 babies

3.) Oliver - 262 babies | Charlotte - 252 babies

4.) William - 261 babies | Isabella - 249 babies 

5.) Benjamin - 256 babies | Sophia - 238 babies
