The nature center provides programs and informative exhibits organized by natural resource specialists. The programs teach kids about animal species and habitats, along with how humans impact and interact with animals. Some of the animals living in Star K Ranch include mule deer, painted turtles, red-tailed hawks, American kestrels, western meadowlarks, great horned owls, blue jays and coyotes.

Kids of all ages can also dress up in animal costumes, play with hand-made wooden puzzles and blocks and put on a puppet show.

The dog-friendly trails and a wetland observation area are all close by the center. You can take kids on a self-guided sensory tour or bring your friends and enjoy the self-guided history tour. Maps are available in the Morrison Nature Center or at the kiosk just southeast of the center and parking area.
