More than 30 Colorado schools offering free college applications for students on Oct. 30

Most college application fees hover between $50 and $100, but later this month, Colorado students have the chance to apply to more than 30 schools for free.

Gov. John Hickenlooper dubbed the month of October as College Application Month and Oct. 30 as Colorado Free Application Day.

"Colorado Free Application Day is about increasing access for any student who wants to pursue a degree in one of Colorado's many higher education institutions," Hickenlooper said.

Students can apply to 32 public colleges, universities and private institutions in the state without worrying about the application fee on Oct. 30 from 12:01 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. Click here for FAQs about Colorado Free Application Day.

  • Metropolitan State University of Denver

  • University of Northern Colorado
  • Western Colorado University
  • Aims Community College
  • Arapahoe Community College
  • Community College of Aurora
  • Community College of Denver
  • Colorado Mountain College
  • Colorado Northwestern Community College
  • Emily Griffith technical College
  • Front Range Community College
  • Lamar Community College
  • Morgan Community College

Thirteen of the schools are offering the free application only on Oct. 30, but the rest offer free applications year-round.

College in Colorado, which was started by the Department of Higher Education to promote access to, affordability of and success in higher education, recommends that students take full advantage of the day by preparing all necessary materials ahead of time so they can submit a high-quality and complete application.
