CASTLE ROCK, Colo -- Homes near the Plum Creek Golf Club in Castle Rock will have to evacuate again Wednesday morning.

Castle Rock Police will go back in to remove explosive chemicals from a home in the 400 block of West Prestwick Way.

On Oct. 31, two 16-year-old boys were arrested and charged with possessing a handgun, building a homemade bomb and making threats over social media.

Officers found the chemicals when they went to the home of one of the teens to talk to the parents about the arrest.

Thirty or so homes were evacuated as police, fire, hazmat crews, the FBI and ATF assessed the situation. A Douglas County bomb squad detonated two explosive devices behind the home.

Authorities added one of the teens had an extensive knowledge of chemicals. They have not discussed any motives related to the case.
