A balloon ride that was a gift from a daughter to help a mom check off her "bucket list" turned deadly killing both women and 14 other people.
Lorilee Brabson and her daughter Paige Brabson died when the balloon went down Saturday morning near Lockhart, Texas, which is 30 miles south of Austin.
"We all started seeing posts from my sister. Because she is big into posting stuff on Facebook. And she posted she was going on her bucket list balloon ride," Lorilee's brother Jason Pino told the Colorado Springs ABC affiliate KRDO.
When the family heard about the balloon crash in Texas they began calling the women.
"[Family members] knew they had their phones and they wouldn't answer. So my mom started calling everyone frantically. and she started having everyone calling them and they wouldn't answer."
According to Paige's Facebook page, she attended Harrison High School in Colorado Springs.
Paige Brabson worked at a Mexican restaurant in San Antonio and had an 11-month-old child, her Grandmother Patricia Morgan posted on GoFundMe, where she is attempting to raise funds for funeral costs.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating Saturday's disaster which is the deadliest hot air balloon crash in U.S. history.
Preliminary evidence shows part of the balloon made contact with high-tension power lines before crashing.
