Kelley Johnson, recently well known for being Miss Colorado, will talk about her journey through the Miss America pageant to 7NEWS.
Johnson gained massive support after the contest. In the talent portion, she wore scrubs and described her passion for nursing. After, hosts of "The View" brushed off her monologue and said they didn't understand why it's a talent.
Since, Miss Colorado's words have gained national applause. Her speech sparked the #NursesUnite hashtag. Johnson told Dr. Oz that criticism from The View was a blessing in disguise because it brought so much positive attention to her field.
Johnson was born in Fort Collins and grew up in Windsor.
