DENVER – Plans are underway for a huge new residential development that would add hundreds of new condominium units to downtown Denver.

Miami-based Renzi Development wants to construct two 40-story towers with 400 units each at the intersection of 19th Avenue and Arapahoe Street. That site is currently home to a surface parking lot.

The proposal, dubbed Paradise Living, would be more than 1 million square feet of total space, including 30,000 square feet of retail and three levels of parking.

Prices for units in the buildings would start at $320,000.

Renzi Development says each of the 800 units will have a balcony and renderings show a number of rooftop patios with pools and landscaping.

A spokesperson for the developer said Tuesday that the land for the project is currently under contract.

City officials said the developer has not yet submitted formal plans to the city but meetings to discuss the project are ongoing. The city said it will approve the project when it meets all applicable city codes.

The developer aims to complete the project in the fall of 2019.
