DENVER – Law enforcement agencies around Colorado will be stepping up their DUI enforcement for Memorial Day weekend.
In Denver, police will have DUI checkpoints set up around the city in an effort to find drivers who are drunk or high behind the wheel.
Police are not releasing details on the locations, dates or times of the checkpoints.
Statewide, 96 law enforcement agencies are participating in beefed-up patrols for the holiday weekend starting Friday and lasting through Tuesday.
Last year, 372 people were arrested on DUI charges during Memorial Day weekend and one person died in a DUI crash, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
