DENVER – Police in Denver are searching for a hit-and-run driver after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a crash early Saturday morning.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. at 20th and Larimer streets in downtown Denver.

Police said the hit-and-run driver, in a white Honda Civic, struck and injured a man walking in the area. The driver of the suspect vehicle then took off at a high rate of speed.

The man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. His condition is unknown.

Authorities had issued a Medina Alert for a Chevy Impala shortly after the incident. However, the alert was canceled later in the day after the vehicle was located and determined not to have been involved in the crash.

The Honda Civic has front-end damage.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
