A man accused of luring children with candy, then threatening them with weapons so he could sexually assault and molest them has been sentenced to 30 years in prison, followed by sex offender intensive supervised probation, according to the Weld County District Attorney.
Mark Aguirre plead guilty to first degree assault – causing serious bodily injury and sexual assault on a child.
Prosecutors said Aguirre sexually assaulted and molested six children -- both male and female, ranging in ages from six to 15 years old.
“Justice was well served in this case. I am always extremely proud of our prosecutors doing what is right on behalf of victims, especially children," Weld County District Attorney Michael Rourke stated in a news release.
