DENVER -- Pot advocates declared victory Monday night, saying Initiative 300, the measure to allow pot clubs in Denver, has passed.
The latest tally from the Elections Office shows “yes” votes lead by about 18,000 votes, but the city has about 30,000 ballots left to count.
The pilot program requires neighborhood approval of social marijuana establishments and bans smoked marijuana indoors. Patrons could use edible or vaporized marijuana indoors.
The bars or restaurants could continue banning marijuana use if they wish. The measure would expire in 2020 unless city officials extend it.
