AURORA, Colo. – A homeless resource center opened its doors this week in Aurora. It’s the first of its kind in the city and is just as unique when it comes to its funding.

The center, designed to serve the needs of the city’s homeless population, is partially funded by marijuana sales.

The city is setting aside $4.5 million from recreational sales through 2018. Part of that money is going to the Aurora Day Resource Center. Aurora has already allocated millions in marijuana tax money to fund homeless services

The center is located on the Fitzsimons Campus and offers a variety of services, including a computer access, clothing and employment services.
