Good Samaritan attempting to help woman stabbed to death in Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- A man was stabbed to death trying to help a woman who was allegedly being attacked in a domestic situation in Fort Collins Monday.
 
A witness told Denver7 that an argument between a man and a woman at 718 Parker Street was escalating out of control when the victim intervened. 
 
The witness said the man stabbed the good Samaritan during the altercation. The victim was rushed to the hospital where he later died. He was identified Tuesday afternoon as Duane L. Gardner, 50, of Fort Collins.
 
Police say that a person is being questioned, but no arrests have been made. Police could not confirm any other details.
