THORNTON, Colo. – Thornton officers arrested a man accused of a deadly shooting that happened Monday morning after releasing two other persons of interest in the case without charges.
Police said they had originally taken the two persons of interest into custody for the shooting, which left a man dead at the Renaissance 88 Apartments around 3:45 a.m. Monday.
Witnesses had originally told police the two people detained and later released had been seen running from the scene of the shooting. But they were both released without charges.
Police say Jaron Beau Trujillo, 27, was arrested for investigation on first-degree murder charges after the others were questioned.
The victim of the shooting has yet to be identified, but witnesses told police they overhead an argument before the shooting.
