COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A man, who police say reached for a firearm and was shot dead by an officer, or officers, in Colorado Springs this weekend has been identified.

Devon Malik Bailey, 19, was fatally shot at about 6:45 p.m. Saturday in the 2400 block of East Fountain Boulevard, police said in a news release.

Officers were responding to a report of a robbery and said the victim identified two suspects who officers contacted. One of the suspects went to grab a firearm and was shot, the release said.
