On June 10, 2017 around 1:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of 11th Street to respond to a possible stabbing, according to court documents. When they arrived on scene, they found a man and woman bleeding from lacerations. When the two men approached them, they became aggressive and during the altercation, Isse used a meat cleaver to slice through the man’s ear, neck and side of his torso, according to the DA’s Office.
Meanwhile, the man who was with Isse started to punch the woman, who was able to get away and disarm Isse. She was also cut by the meat cleaver.
Isse was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and abusing toxic vapors. He was convicted of all three charges in August.
It is unclear if Jibril was charged in connection to this incident.
