COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — A man has pleaded guilty to murder charges in connection to a Commerce City double homicide from April 2019.

On Monday, Thomas Holleman pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree murder after deliberation and one count of second-degree murder in connection to the double homicide in Commerce City, according to the 17th Judicial District Attorney's Office.

On April 5, 2019, officers with the Commerce City Police Department responded to 10813 Belle Creek Boulevard after Holleman called 911 to say he had just killed his landlord and one of his roommates. He also told police he'd be waiting for them on the front porch, according to the district attorney's office.

When police arrived, they took him into custody. They also found Mary Broad, 59, and Raphael Sassi, 42, dead on the floor of the residence. Both had been shot multiple times in the chest and head, according to the district attorney's office.

Holleman faces life in prison without parole, which is mandatory for first-degree murder, plus 48 years for second-degree murder. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 10.
