LITTLETON, Colo. — A man was taken into custody after he allegedly shot at his girlfriend and set a fire on an apartment porch in Littleton Thursday.

On Thursday, officers with the Littleton Police Department responded to the Pinnacle at Mountain Gate Apartments, located at 4600 W. Mineral Drive, on a report of a fire on the porch of an apartment.

When they arrived at the scene, officers contacted a man and took him into custody.

After an investigation, police found that the man had been in an argument with his girlfriend and fired a gun at her twice. The woman was not injured in the shooting. The man then stepped outside onto the porch "to start the fire," police said. When he did this, the woman fled from the apartment and asked bystanders to call 911.

The South Metro Fire Department responded to the apartment and contained the fire.

Police said nobody was injured during this incident and there is no threat to the community.

Later Friday, Littleton police identified the man as 39-year-old David Ingals and said he was being held at the Arapahoe County jail for investigation on charges of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree arson and kidnapping.
