GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Authorities have released the name of a man who was hit and killed by an SUV on Interstate 70 west of Glenwood Springs.
The Post Independent reports 68-year-old Donald Salisbury, of Streator, Illinois, was trying to alert westbound drivers Thursday night that the vehicle he was in had hit an elk and was disabled. Salisbury's vehicle was blocking the left lane around a curve when he was hit.
Josh Lewis, a spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol, says investigators do not believe the driver who hit Salisbury was at fault.
The coroner's office did not release any addition information about the other people in either vehicle.
