BRIGHTON, Colo. (AP) — A 28-year-old man who shot his father to death at an apartment north of Denver has been sentenced to 32 years in prison.
Waylon Robitaille pleaded guilty in April to second-degree murder and was sentenced Monday for the April 28, 2018, death of 52-year-old David Robitaille.
Adams County sheriff's deputies called to the home found the elder Robitaille with a gunshot wound to the head. Waylon Robitaille told investigators he and his father had argued and were struggling over the gun when it accidentally fired, but prosecutor Sara Carty said evidence shows the shooting was deliberate.
