AURORA, Colo. — One man died after he was shot in Aurora's Saddle Rock neighborhood Sunday evening and the suspect, who initially fled, was taken into custody after returning to the scene.
On Sunday evening, the Aurora Police Department said they were investigating a fatal shooting at the Sonoma Resort Apartments along the 22300 block of E. Ontario Drive, which is in the Saddle Rock neighborhood in southeast Aurora.
They confirmed around 1:45 a.m. Monday that one man had died in the shooting.
When police first arrived to the scene, they found a man inside of an apartment with a gunshot wound. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect, who had initially left the crime scene, returned later and was taken into custody, police said. He was later identified as Donovan Anthony Brown, 20, and was arrested on a second-degree murder charge.
On Monday, the man who died was identified as Sir'Sedric Donavan Gregg, 18, by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office. The coroner's office said he died of a gunshot wound to the head.
