LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Prosecutors announced Wednesday they had filed first-degree murder and other charges against a man whom authorities now say is believed to have stabbed two men to death at Belmar Park on Aug. 15.

Vicente Enrique Orozco, 19, faces two counts of first-degree murder after deliberation, one take of first-degree felony murder, one count of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated robbery and 11 counts for committing violent crimes.

Police announced last Wednesday they had arrested Orozco and connected him to the deadly stabbing of 61-year-old Stevan Sandvick and said they were still investigating whether another deadly stabbing at the park that happened hours earlier was connected.

The victim in the earlier stabbing was identified as 19-year-old Ivan Rivera. He died days after the stabbing at an area hospital.

The First Judicial District Attorney’s Office says Orozco is being held without bond at the Jefferson County jail. The affidavit for Orozco’s arrest is sealed. Orozco is set to face a preliminary hearing on Sept. 27.
