GOLDEN, Colo. — A man suspected of being behind the wheel during a deadly crash in Arvada on July 26 has been arrested.
In a press release Wednesday, District Attorney Peter Weir announced charges against Alan Brazulis, 32, including vehicular homicide — DUI, child abuse, three counts of vehicular assault, third-degree assault child abuse, two counts of DUI and driving without a license.
According to the First Judicial District Attorney’s Office, an Arvada officer saw Brazulis driving eastbound in the westbound lane of Oberon Road on July 26. His white Pontiac crashed into a Toyota 4Runner with a family of four inside, including two young children. All four people inside the 4Runner were injured and Brazulis' passenger, Griffin Korosec, 41, died at the scene.
After serving a warrant in Grand Junction, Brazulis was taken into custody and brought to the Jefferson County Jail where he's being held on a $500,000 bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 1.
