The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office was investigating the deaths of a man and woman found in a vehicle on a county road in Roosevelt National Forest.

On Monday March 28, the Colorado Springs Police Department asked the Sheriff's Office to check the welfare of a man and woman in the area of Larimer County Roads 82E and 80C.

With the help of citizens, deputies located a vehicle with two people dead inside.

The Fort Collins Coloradoan reported late Tuesday that the bodies were those of 52-year-old Robert Wolf and his 16-year-old daughter Denver Wolf.

The coroner's office reportedly told the paper that Wolf shot his daughter three times in the chest sometime Sunday after driving her from Colorado Springs to Park County.

He then drove his daughter's body to an area north of Fort Collins and shot himself once in the chest with a .22-caliber rifle early Monday morning.

Wolf was reportedly struggling with his divorce from Denver Wolf's mother and left a pile of suicide letters, according to the Coloradoan article.
