Man accused of attempted sex assault of child in Aurora, police say

AURORA, Colo. – A man who works as a gardener in the Denver area is accused of attempted sexual assault of a child, police said.

Israel Martinez -Santiago, 42, faces charges of internet luring of a child, internet sexual exploitation of a child and attempted sex assault of a child, according to Aurora police.

The family of the alleged victim told police about "innapproriate conversations" the girl was having with Martinez-Santiago, according to a police news release. Martinez was arrested after setting up a meeting in which he believed he would meet with the girl, police said.

Martinez-Santiago has done gardening work in seven counties across the Denver area, and police asked for any other potential victims to contact detective T. McGinty at tmcginty@auroragov.org.
