DENVER — Beginning Monday, travelers will be able to fly nonstop between Denver and Paris, France on Norwegian, a low-cost carrier based in Europe.

The flights will run twice a week — Mondays and Fridays — on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Fares start at $229 one way.

This is the latest in a string of new service at DIA in recent years. The carrier began nonstop flights to London last October.

Other international airlines have made announcements. Copa Airlines announced nonstop service to Panama and Edelweiss announced it would launch direct service between Denver and Zurich next summer.

Airport officials said nearly 200 people travel between Denver and Paris every day and a recent survey found that almost three quarters of respondents said they would travel to France more often if there were a direct flight option.
