DENVER -- All but a few of Colorado’s ski resorts have shut down for the season. Eldora Mountain Resort closed weeks ago, but is still a hive of activity.

The resort is getting ready for a new lift set to be installed this summer. The lift will whisk six people at a time up the mountain.

To make room for the new lift, staff disassembled the aging Challenge and Cannonball lifts and sold off the chairs to an eager crowd.

Hundreds came out Friday in pickups with trailers to snatch up the chairs, which sold for $350.

About 300 chairs came off the two old lifts.

The new lift will be installed over the summer and be ready for opening day in the fall.

Word got around that the chairs would be available through this Facebook video posted on the Eldora Resort Facebook page

The chairs sold out in hours.  Another round of Chair Pickups for those who couldn't make it Friday will be held on May 12.
