LITTLETON, Colo. — Just like everywhere else, things have been a little slow the past month for Crave Burger in Highlands Ranch.

"Talk about a struggle. Just getting food has been a challenge. Getting people to get in the doors is a challenge," said Jeff Richard, owner of CRAVE Real Burgers.

But they got a bit of help from an unexpected neighbor—a business known for being out of this world.

"They picked us. We didn't ask for this. They just reached out," Richard said.

"We offered every space employee a $20 voucher to spend at a local restaurant," Lockheed Martin spokesperson Chris Pettigrew said.

Lockheed Martin has about 8,000 employees in Colorado, so they reached out to some locally-owned restaurants about being a part of this.

"[It's] an opportunity for us to thank employees and to give back to the community going through this really tough time. We want to see these restaurants survive just as much as anyone," Pettigrew said.

It seems like a small thing at $20 per employee.

"For us, it makes a big difference. It's huge," owner Jeryn Richard said.

"We know that every little bit helps, and we're just excited to be able to try and make it a little bit of a difference," Pettigrew added.

Crave has benefited from the most vouchers, but there are also several other restaurants taking part:

  • Abby’s Irish Pub
  • Angelo’s Taverna
  • Angie’s Italian Restaurant
  • Atmosphere Gastropub
  • Back East Bar and Grill
  • CRAVE Real Burgers
  • Indulge Bistro & Wine Bar
  • Logan Street
  • Old Blinking Light
  • Parry’s Pizzeria
  • Sloan’s Bar and Grill
