Local dad never thought he'd live to spend another Father's Day with his kids

Denver, Colo. - This was a Father's Day that was never supposed to happen for one Fort Collins Grandfather.

A couple months ago musician Carl Carillo began feeling dizzy before a performance. Instead of going to the show, he went to the emergency room at UCHealth. That's where several blood clots were found in his brain.

Because of the immediate medical attention, Carl was able to spend his Father's Day throwing the football around at Mile High Stadium.

"When something like this happens, you realize just how important the people around you are and how important the people who take care of you are," said Carillo.

This is the second year in a row the Broncos and UCHealth have teamed up to host 'Pigskin with Pops'

Families who attended received a Broncos necktie and a commemorative football.
