Life-saving efforts continue for an Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office deputy critically injured in a crash Wednesday.

Deputy Bill Foreman, Jr., 55, was following an ambulance through a green light to a homicide scene when he was hut by a pickup truck on Iliff at South Valentia Street around 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The impact spun the deputy's car and it landed on a nearby sidewalk. Foreman had to be cut out of his car.

He remains in critical condition.

The pickup truck driver, Felipe Castanda Alacala, was not injured. He was cited for careless driving causing injury and fail to yield right of way, the Colorado State Patrol said.

Bonfils Blood Center has set up a blood drive in Foreman's honor as the "Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office Replenishment Blood Drive."

To donate on behalf of Deputy Foreman, visit any donation location and tell the staff you are donating on his behalf and provide the site code: B016.
