LARKSPUR, Colo – The town of Larkspur is shaken up after its town hall electronic message board was shot twice in two weeks.
The Douglas County Sherriff’s Office hasn’t been able to find who the shooter is.
The town is offering $2,000 for any information on who could be responsible for the vandalism.
According to a press release on the Town of Larkspur’s website, on Friday, Aug. 31, someone stopped near the electronic message board in front of the Larkspur Town Hall and shot a single .45 caliber round into the sign.
Between the hours of 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14 and 6:40 a.m., Friday, Sept. 14, eight more .45 caliber rounds were shot into the sign.
Investigators told the town it might be the same person/s that fired all nine rounds, with the same gun from the same location.
According to the press release, Douglas County Sheriff’s recovered nine. 45 caliber shell casings from the parking lot of the Town Hall and some bullet fragments were also recovered from inside the sign.
