Lakewood police searching for SUV, suspects in fatal shooting

LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Police in Lakewood are asking for the public’s help finding two suspects connected to a fatal shooting last week.

The shooting took place near South Jay Street and West Bayaud Avenue at about 5 p.m. on May 30. Police said two men in an SUV drove up alongside Ivan Ocampo-Plascencia, 26, while he was walking along the street and an argument ensued. One of the men then shot Ocampo-Plascencia, killing him.

The suspects drove away northbound on Jay Street, police said.

The suspects were driving a maroon and gray late ‘90s or early 2000s SUV, likely a Suzuki Grand Vitara with damage to the front grill and bumper, some missing trim on the front right wheel and a missing spare tire.
