An elderly man driving near a Lakewood Walmart ran over another man on the sidewalk.
Lakewood police say the victim died after the crash around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
An officer on scene tells Denver7 that the driver lost control while crossing Wadsworth Boulevard, going 50 mph. The driver hit the victim, 51, and then crashed into the Walmart on Wadsworth near 6th Avenue.
The man on the sidewalk had been waiting for a bus. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Paramedics also transported the driver, who's in his 80s.
