LAKESIDE, Colo. — One of the area’s oldest and most beloved icons will be getting a little louder this summer as screaming coaster enthusiasts descend on Lakeside Amusement Park.
The park is installing an all-metal roller coaster, according to Denver7 news partnerthe Denver Post.
The newspaper reports the so-far unnamed coaster will open in June and be about 1/3 the size of park’s wooden roller coaster, the Cyclone.
It will be located on the south end of the park, near the old race track.
Lakeside, which is located in a city of the same name, originally opened in 1908.
The park will open for the 2018 season on May 25.
